MONA SEIF, Egyptian activist, on Al Jazeera TV.  She had just described the scene in Tahrir Square, including a fellow protestor being shot in the head, and the fear of being hunted “one by one” by pro-Mubarak forces.

Despite all of that, and despite her voice quavering with fear, there was a defiance in her voice.

Defiance.
